Homepage Women and Family Kings and Rulers ● First exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta, Malta in October 2000. ● Exhibited at Regis College, Carney Gallery, Fine Arts Center, Weston, MA, USA in September 2002. ● Exhibited at Salem State College, Winfisky Gallery, Salem, MA, USA in October 2002. Many of the families portrayed are inter-racial or inter-cultural, and all of them are shown clinging desperately to unity in a world where more and more families are being torn apart and the concept of family is being eroded. Another theme in this exhibition was the role of women in the family. Women are seen as strong and central - along with men - but women must rise out of subjugation to housework and to narrow mental constraints. I tried to get these points across in a lighthearted way.” |
